Programmatic Media Manager – Brand

Our client, a growing consumer brand is looking for multiple programmatic candidates in their Bay area office.

The role

This person is an analytical media professional with the ability to plan, buy, and optimize display media. In addition, the ideal candidate helps formulate display advertising strategies and media plans to meet specific performance marketing objectives. Uses advanced targeting and optimization tactics to ensure that goals are being met in the most cost efficient manner.


  • Plan and optimize display media campaigns to support online direct-response, customer acquisition and transaction advertising at allowable acquisition costs
  • Responsible for success of campaigns through management and optimization of media buying to meet business goals/metrics (ROI, CPA, etc)
  • Serve as display media subject matter expert, providing recommendations and advising on best practices internally
  • Set up and maintain media plans in DoubleClick Planning (DCP); traffic campaigns in DCM
  • Manage ad buying within RTB/DSP platforms as needed
  • Collaborate internally with marketing, analytics, and operations teams to ensure strategy, measurement, and reporting requirements are met
  • Collaborate externally with partners to negotiate optimal rates are secured, and campaign goals are achieved
  • Manage the billing process and ensure payments are processed in a timely manner
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the digital media landscape to drive internal innovation and vision



  • Track record of success achieving CPA goals via display planning and optimization
  • Experience with display targeting tactics such as site retargeting, lookalike modeling, and search retargeting and how to leverage them to achieve business goals
  • Solid understanding of the digital marketing landscape, and where display fits within it
  • Proficiency in DoubleClick tools – DCM trafficking experience a plus
  • Ability to negotiate with media vendors to secure lowest cost
  • Ability to analyze and draw meaningful & actionable insights from data
  • Clear communicator able to support POVs with solid rationale
  • Strong project management skills; detail-oriented and able to coordinate multiple projects
  • Proactive and able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Ambition to grow with the company and take on more responsibility
  • Minimum 2-5 years of direct digital media experience at an agency, publisher, or vendor
  • Experience in a media planning or buying position at an advertising or media agency preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree
